Investable Weight Factor Change For ST Microelectronics In The S&P/MIB Index

Standard & Poor’s will change the IWF (Investable Weight Factor) for ST Microelectronics (Italy, ISIN NL0000226223), a member of the S&P/MIB Index, from 0.659 to 0.721 effective at the close of trading Thursday, December 09, 2004. This is following the sale of ordinary shares by France Telecom, which has reduced its holding to less than 5% of shares outstanding.

For the week of November 29th – November 3rd, 2004, total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) increased by 13% in rubles and 21% in contracts and reached 10 178 million rubles and 1 286 thousand contracts. Total open interest as of December 3rd, 2004, increased by 3% in contracts and equaled 12 640 million rubles and 1 513 thousand contracts.

Eurex US, the fully-electronic U.S. futures and options exchange, announced today that the exchange will launch futures on the U.S. large-cap Russell 1000® index and the U.S. small cap Russell 2000® index at the end of January 2005. This marks the expansion of Eurex US' product portfolio and Eurex's global liquidity network into U.S. index derivatives for the first time. Eurex US currently offers futures and options on futures on U.S. Treasury products.

CME Announces New Membership Class For Hedge Funds

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, today announced that it will introduce a new Family of Funds membership class for hedge funds. This new membership class, which the CME Board of Directors approved at its Dec. 2, 2004, meeting, allows a family of funds to receive member trading fees without the need for each fund in the family to become an inactive clearing member.
