CBOT Fed Watch - December 8 Market Close

In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on December 14, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

CBOE Wins Two Awards For Most Innovative New Indexes: VIX And BXM

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that on December 6, 2004, the CBOE S&P 500 BuyWrite Index (BXM) was awarded the Most Innovative Benchmark Index distinction, and the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) Futures product received the Most Innovative Index Derivative Award at the Super Bowl of Indexing Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

CBOE Experienced Systems Problems Today

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that at 2:50 pm CST (Chicago time) CBOE experienced a floor-wide systems problem that interrupted order routing and the dissemination of price and quote reports. Systems were restored beginning at 3:02 pm. CST, and no problems are expected for tomorrow's trading.

ArcaEx Releases November 2004 Transaction Volume Data

Archipelago Holdings, Inc. (PCX: AX) today announced its November 2004 market transaction volume data for the Archipelago Exchange ("ArcaEx"). Specifically, in NYSE-listed equity securities, ArcaEx's total trading market share was up both year-over-year and sequentially, growing from 1.1% in November 2003 to 2.4% in November 2004 and from 2.3% in October 2004.
