  • CBOE Seat Sells For An All-Time Record For Second Consecutive Day - Sale Of $777,000 On Tuesday, December 6 Tops Yesterday's Record

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that a seat, or membership, at CBOE was sold for an all-time record price for the second consecutive day. The CBOE seat sale of $777,000 on Tuesday, December 6th surpassed the previous CBOE all-time seat price record of $771,000 set yesterday, Monday, December 5th.

  • Archipelago Announces Shareholder Approval Of NYSE Merger

    Archipelago Holdings Inc. (PCX: AX), owner and operator of the Archipelago Exchange(R) (ArcaEx(R)), the nation's first totally open, all-electronic stock exchange, today announced the certified results of its shareholder vote that approved its merger with the NYSE. A majority of the outstanding shares of Archipelago common stock entitled to vote at today's special meeting were cast in favor of the merger agreement.

    TSX Venture Exchange announced the TSX Venture 50(TM), the first ever ranking of Canada’s top emerging public companies. The TSX Venture 50 are the top 10 companies in each of five major industry sectors – Mining, Oil & Gas, Technology, Life Sciences and Diversified Industries – based on a ranking formula with equal weighting given to one-year revenue (last reported 12 months), return on investment, market cap growth and trading volume.   • Wiener Börse First Worldwide Index Cooperation With The Shanghai Stock Exchange

    Starting today, Wiener Börse and the Shanghai Stock Exchange will jointly publish the "China Traded Index" (CNX), making Wiener Börse the first stock exchange worldwide to enter into a concrete cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The CNX contains 30 Chinese companies from the "A Shares" segment, which comprises those stocks that can currently be traded only through national banks or selected international trading members.
