  • September 2005 Adds Record Chapter To NYBOT History

    Records tumbled in bunches at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) in hectic trading as September 2005 provided historic highs in monthly and daily volume and open interest. New York’s original futures exchange approached the 4 million-contract mark in total futures and options traded in one month when 3,977,458 contracts changed hands, breaking the old record (by over 100,000 contracts) set in June of this year.

    The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it will decrease margins for its natural gas futures, Henry Hub swap futures, NYMEX miNYsm natural gas futures, Henry Hub swing swap futures, and Henry Hub penultimate swap futures contracts, effective at the close of business on October 7.
