Eurex To Introduce Sector Index Futures On European Equity Indices- Expansion Of Dow Jones STOXX Product Family To Include Eight Futures Contracts
Eurex, the international derivatives market, is launching eight new futures contracts on sector indices of Dow Jones STOXX 600 SM and Dow Jones Euro STOXX SM on March 19. The new futures contracts cover the euro zone and European area, respectively, in the sectors banks, technology, telecommunications and healthcare. The sector index futures are designed along the same lines as the existing Dow Jones Euro-STOXX 50 futures.

EEX Sets New Record On Monthly Basis - 529,785 MWh Traded In January
EEX, the European Energy Exchange, published its turnover figures for the month of January on Wednesday: With 529,785 megawatt hours (MWh) traded, EEX reported a new monthly trading record which topped the previous record of November 2000 (466.443 MWh). After six months of operation, total turnover at EEX amounts to some 2.4 million MWh.

Decisions By The Listing And Issuing Rules Advisory Committee And Euronext Concerning Corus Group Plc.
In a letter dated 6 November 2000, Euronext Amsterdam N.V. (Euronext) requested a recommendation from the Listing and Issuing Rules Advisory Committee on a possible violation of the Listing and Issuing Rules by Corus Group Plc. (Corus). The committee decided to handle the request in writing, and submitted its recommendation to Euronext on 10 January 2001.

Decimals Now The Language Of Choice At US Listed Exchanges - Conversion Of Remaining Issues Proceeded Smoothly
After more than 200 years of "eighths" and "halves," the floors of the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, the regionals, and the options exchanges resonated with the sounds of decimals when trading opened. The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 24 Billion Krónur
The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on January 30 of the maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 11.4 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 24 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

HKEx Co-sponsors International Conference In London

Derivatives trading in electricity at EEX, the European Energy Exchange, will be launched on March 1, 2001. This will make EEX the first exchange in Germany to offer derivatives trading in electricity. The company made the announcement at a press conference in Zurich on Tuesday January 30.
