Taiwan Futures Exchange Newsletter - January 2026

Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) concluded 2025 with total trading volume of 381.9 million contracts, while the average daily volume (ADV) stood at 1.6 million contracts. Supported by strong stock market performance and active turnover, Single Stock Futures (SSF) remained solid, with ADV increasing 9% year-over-year to 297 thousand contracts. Night-session SSF trading also continued to expand, with retails contributing around 45% of total volume. Meanwhile, the ADV of Micro TAIEX Futures (TMF) increased by 22% to 174 thousand contracts in 2025, with retail investors demonstrating strong participation, representing 63% of the trading volume.

INE Has Released Its Circular On Releasing The Standard TSR 20 Futures Contract Of The Shanghai International Energy Exchange And The Other Implementing Rule

Shanghai International Energy Exchange has released its Circular on Releasing the Standard TSR 20 Futures Contract of the Shanghai International Energy Exchange and the Other Implementing Rule, as shown below:
The revised Standard TSR 20 Futures Contract of the Shanghai International Energy Exchange and the Delivery Rules of the Shanghai International Energy Exchange have been reviewed and adopted by the Board of Directors of Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE), and reported to China Securities Regulatory Commission. These rules are hereby released and shall take effect since February 9, 2026.

Monetary Authority Of Singapore Proposes Legislative And Regulatory Changes To Facilitate Dual Listings On Global Listing Board

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to the Securities and Futures Act 2001 (SFA) and draft regulations to facilitate dual listings on the Global Listing Board (GLB). The GLB, to be set up for the purpose of dual listings on SGX and Nasdaq, was announced on 19 November 2025. The proposed amendments aim to minimise friction for dual listings in three ways – to enable the use of a single prospectus; to align initial public offering (IPO) timelines between the U.S. and Singapore; and to permit issuers to conduct certain activities in a manner similar to practices in the U.S., such as when making forward-looking statements.
