RPC Data has announced disappointing results for the 6 months to 30th November 2001. Whilst turnover rose strongly by 91% from P7.8m to P14.8m, a 156% increase in cost of sales resulted in a sharp deterioration in gross profit margins from 51% to 34%. There appears to have been a change in product mix, with a significantly large proportion of sales coming from low margin product. The international derivatives market Eurex traded and cleared over 65 million contracts in January, its third-best monthly total to date. Compared with January 2001, the volume posted at the world's leading derivatives exchange was 22 percent higher.
