Deutsche Börse AG is continuing to expand its XTF segment for exchange-traded funds. Fourteen new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on Dow Jones STOXX 600 sector indices have been trading since Monday. Together with the four STOXX 600 sector ETFs already listed in XTF, all 18 sector indices of the DJ STOXX 600 universe are now tradable as ETFs on a single exchange platform for the first time.

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations yesterday reported short interest of 414,767,588 shares as of the July 15 settlement date, an increase of 8,674,328 from the 406,093,260 (adjusted) reported in mid-June. The July figure represents trades through July 10, 2002.

Doug Atkin, Richard Kilsby, Benn Steil And John Woodman To Launch Consultancy

Four prominent names in the transatlantic securities business announced today that they are joining forces to create an international market consultancy operation. The four are Doug Atkin, formerly CEO of Instinet; Richard Kilsby, formerly CEO of UK-based Tradepoint (now virt-x); Benn Steil, Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations; and John Woodman, formerly COO of Knight Securities International. Atkin and Steil are based in New York, Kilsby and Woodman in London.
