  • Lincare Holdings Inc. To Join The Nasdaq-100 Index Beginning July 24, 2002

    Lincare Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq:LNCR), of Clearwater, Florida, will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index® (Nasdaq:NDX), effective at the beginning of trading Wednesday, July 24, 2002. Lincare Holdings will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking StockSM (QQQ). Lincare Holdings Inc. will replace WorldCom, Inc. - WorldCom Group (Nasdaq:WCOME), which is no longer eligible for inclusion in the index.

  • Instinet Announces Second Quarter 2002 Results

    Instinet Group Incorporated (Nasdaq: INET) today announced a net loss of $59.9 million, or $0.24 per share, for the second quarter ended June 30, 2002, compared to a net profit of $40.7 million, or $0.18 per share, for the second quarter of 2001. Excluding net investment results, restructuring costs and results from discontinued operations and the related tax effects, the pro forma operating loss in the second quarter was $1.5 million, or $0.01 per share.

    During the week of July 15, 2002, the trading volume of the FORTS (Futures and Options Market on RTS) standard contracts went up to 1 900 million rubles, with 482 000 contracts and 12 418 transactions concluded. The previous week showed 13 918 transactions and 499 000 contracts on a lower turnover of 1 890 million rubles.
