The International Petroleum Exchange, Europe's leading energy futures and options exchange, marked its sixth consecutive record year with volumes rising 9.5% during 2003 to 33,341,244 lots. Daily and monthly records were set during the year for all the Exchange's oil and gas futures contracts.

FCOJ To Be Listed On New York Cotton Exchange

Effective Thursday, January 8, 2004, frozen concentrated orange juice futures and options contracts ("FCOJ-1") will be listed on the New York Cotton Exchange ("NYCE"). As of the close of business on Wednesday, January 7, 2003, FCOJ-1 will be delisted from the Citrus Associates of the New York Cotton Exchange, Inc. ("Citrus"). The delisting from Citrus and the listing on NYCE will have no effect on FCOJ-1 positions carried by the New York Clearing Corp. ("NYCC") or who may trade FCOJ-1.

Euronext.liffe Commodity Products Set New Annual Volume Record In 2003

Euronext.liffe's Commodity Products set a new all-time annual volume record of 6,642,609 contracts during 2003, an increase of 17% when compared to 2002 and breaking the previous record by almost one million contracts.

(CME) has announced the following trading schedule for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday (all times are Central time): Friday, January 16 Commodity, foreign exchange, interest rate and GSCI products traded on Exchange trading floors close at 12:00 noon. (Commodity options close at 12:02 p.m.) Equity index products close at their regularly scheduled times (3:15 p.m.)

The January canola futures contract at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) closed 2003 at $364.50 per metric tonne, ending a year that saw the nearby futures contract price swing over $100.00 per tonne. The nearby futures series closed as high as $433.30 in early January and as low as $328.00 in July.
