    NASD Chairman and CEO Robert Glauber yesterday announced the formation of a Mutual Fund Task Force, whose mission will be to identify and recommend ways to bring greater transparency to mutual fund costs and distribution arrangements.

  • HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Three-month HIBOR Futures Contract

    Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 14 May 2004, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

    Based upon the figures until the end of April 2004, Euronext Brussels communicates the new monthly selection list for the BEL20® index. The first three reserve candidates are Tessenderlo, CMB and Deceuninck. This list is valid for replacements that would occur from Monday 17 May 2004 up to and including Tuesday 15 June 2004 after trading hours.   • Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/ASX 50 Index

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading Thursday May 20th, 2004: Coles Myer Limited (Australia, SEDOL: 6209908, GICS Code: 30101040) member of the S&P/ASX 50 Index will increase its shares by 4,032,903 to 1,216,452,903. This change is due to a dividend reinvestment plan. There is no change to the IWF.

  • Standard & Poor’s Announces Extension Of S&P 500 Amex Pricing Pilot Program

    Standard & Poor’s, a leading provider of independent investment research, indices and ratings, announced today that the pilot program in which the S&P 500 is being calculated using American Stock Exchange-determined closing prices for 12 NASDAQ-listed stocks will be extended by seven weeks. Originally scheduled to end on Friday, May 14, 2004, the program will now end on Friday, July 2, 2004, after which the closing prices for these 12 stocks will revert to being determined by NASDAQ.     Representatives of the Athens Exchange, the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange, the Cyprus Stock Exchange and of FTSE Group, met today, 12th of May 2004 at the premises of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, for the second meeting of the Advisory Committee for the FTSE-Med 100 Index. The FTSE - Med 100 Index which was launched on the 19/6/2003, is composed of 100 stocks of the three Exchanges, some of which are also listed on US and other European securities markets.

    Effective May 26, 2004, S&P/EMDB will increase the number of shares outstanding for Bangkok Bank (EMDB Code 578160.1/SEDOL 6077008), an S&P/IFCG and S&P/IFCI index constituent, by 442 million via a new issue, following a public offering. The IWF of the stock will remain 0.25. If the above share increase had occurred on May 11, 2004, the weight of Bangkok Bank in the S&P/IFCI Thailand Index would have increased to 5.49% from 4.28%.
