    Standard & Poor’s will make the following change in the S&P Asia 50 index effective the close of trading Monday, June 7, 2004: Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation (Singapore, SEDOL: 6663689, GICS: Financials, GICS Code: 40101010), a member of the S&P Asia 50 index, shares will increase by 75,925,260 to 1,356,001,160. The new shares originated from the acquisition of The Great Eastern Holdings Limited.

  • NYSE Reports First-Quarter 2004 Financial Results

    The New York Stock Exchange today reported net income of $11.5 million for the first quarter of 2004, compared with $15.4 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenues increased to $268.8 million, from $268.0 million in the first quarter of 2003. Expenses for the quarter increased 2.5%, to $247.9 million. Pre-tax income for the first-quarter 2004 was reported at $21 million, compared with $26.2 million during the same period in 2003.

    A record 1,203,821 New York harbor gasoline futures contracts were traded on the NYMEX Division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., during May, surpassing the previous monthly record of 1,105,044 futures traded in October 2002.
