  • Korea Stock Exchange: Transfer Of KSE-Listed Futures/Options Products To KOFEX

    KOSPI 200 futures/options, and equity options (hereinafter referred to as the KSE equity derivatives), which are presently traded on the KSE market, will be transferred to and traded on the KOFEX on the first trading day of 2004 and thereafter. However, the operations of the KSE equity derivatives market will be entrusted to the KSE to ensure the stability of the market and minimize inconvenience to investors and market participants.     The Business Conduct Committee of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) met on December 24 at 11:00 a.m. Central time to consider whether an emergency action was required to respond to market activity following the announcement of the discovery of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy ("Mad Cow Disease") in one Holstein dairy cow near Mabton, Washington. Holstein cattle are not deliverable on CME's cattle contracts.

    The test samples were received at the laboratory in Waybridge, England early Christmas morning. The UK veterinary pathologists concur with our interpretation of the Dec. 22 positive test conducted by USDA pathologists at the National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL) in Ames Iowa. USDA Chief Veterinarian Ron. DeHaven considers this concurrence to be confirmatory of our finding of a positive BSE case.
