Barclays Capital Becomes First Bank To Offer Electronic CME Eurodollar Options

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays PLC, and CME, the world’s largest and most diverse financial exchange, announced today that CME Eurodollar options strategies functionality is now available through Barclays Capital’s electronic trading system, BARX. Barclays Capital is the first bank to offer electronic execution of CME Eurodollar options on its electronic trading system.

Yokohama Commodity Exchange To Merge With Tokyo Grain Exchange

The Yokohama Commodity Exchange (Y-COM) will merge with the Tokyo Grain Exchange (TGE) under the name of the Tokyo Grain Exchange, effective April 1, 2006, and thus Y-COM will be dissolved.

William Johnstone And Thomas Joyce Named To SIA Board Of Directors

William Johnstone, President and CEO of Davidson Companies, and Thomas Joyce, Chairman and CEO of Knight Capital Group, were appointed to the board of directors of the Securities Industry Association (SIA) during its meeting today. Johnstone replaces William Atwell of Charles Schwab, who retired. Joyce replaces Tim Scheve of Legg Mason, who resigned.

Tokyo Commodity Exchange Price Limits On Kerosene Futures

At the Contingent Oil Market Management Committee held on January 11, 2006, the decisions were made as following: ON AND AFTER JANUARY 12, 2006, the price limits imposed on kerosene futures will be set as JPY 1,600 for the time being for March 2006 contract, pursuant to Article 2 "Daily Price Fluctuation Limit (Price Limit)" of Regulations Governing Management of Oil Market.

SEC Offers Incentives For Companies To File Financial Reports With Interactive Data

The Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that the Commission staff will offer expedited reviews of registration statements and annual reports to companies that volunteer for a test group as part of the Commission’s interactive data initiative. Interactive data holds the promise of transforming the static, text-only documents companies file with the SEC into dynamic financial reports that can be quickly and easily accessed and analyzed.
