American Stock Exchange To Trade Options Based On The Amex China Index

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) today announced it will launch trading in options based on The Amex China Index. Trading will commence in put and call options on The Amex China Index on Thursday, May 6 under the ticker symbol CZH. The specialist in the options will be Tanstaafl Research & Trading, LLC.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Western Barley Futures At 12 Month High

Western Barley futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange traded at their highest levels in twelve months during the month of April. The May futures contract closed out the month of April at $165.50 per metric tonne, which was the highest closing price for the Western Barley contract since April 2003. The increase in WCE barley prices coincides with the increase in the entire feed grains complex, as prices for WCE feed wheat and CBOT corn have also risen sharply over the course of the crop year.

("NASDAQ;" OTCBB: NDAQ) today announced the extension of The NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock (QQQ) into Mexico – the first foreign Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) to trade in any Latin American country. On 29th April The General Meeting of Shareholders of Borsa Italiana Spa approved the parent company's individual financial statements for 2003, which ended with net earnings of € 23.4 million on a turnover of € 123.8 million. The Meeting also approved the consolidated financial statements for 2003, which ended with net earnings of € 19.6 million on a turnover of € 180.2 million.

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes effective after the close of business on Tuesday, May 4, 2004: The shareholders of AltaGas Services Inc. (TSX:ALA) have approved a plan whereby the company will be converted into an income trust, AltaGas Energy Trust.
