American Stock Exchange Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 884,633,398 shares as of the February 13 settlement date, an increase of 37,648,410 from the 846,984,988 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-January. The February figure represents trades through February 10, 2004.
