FTSE Xinhua Index Announces Annual Review Results - To Screen Out B Shares As Eligible Constituents In The FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index

FTSE Xinhua Index (FXI), the independent China index provider, held its Index Committee meeting last Tuesday to review and approve constituent changes on the FTSE/Xinhua China Index Series and the FTSE/Xinhua Galaxy Provincial Indices. The alterations will become effective after the close of business on Friday 16 July 2004 (i.e. on Monday, 19 July 2004).

Share Changes In The S&P/ASX 50 Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading Monday July 19th, 2004: ANZ Banking Group Limited (Australia, SEDOL: 6065586, GICS Code: 40101010) member of the S&P/ASX 50 Index will increase its shares by 3,906,000 to 1,812,456,000. SEC Votes To Propose Requirement That Hedge Fund Advisers Register Under Investment Advisers Act

The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted to publish for comment proposed new Rule 203(b)(3)-2 that would require hedge fund advisers to register with the Commission under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. The Commission also voted to propose related rule amendments.
