Today the New York Stock Exchange listed the streetTRACKS® Gold Shares Exchange Traded Trust under the ticker symbol GLD. Gold Shares offers investors the opportunity to access the gold bullion market through a tradable security with each share representing 1/10 of an ounce of gold. Sponsored by World Gold Trust Services, LLC, a subsidiary of the World Gold Council, Gold Shares are designed to track the price of gold and trade intra-day like any common stock on the Exchange.

The Securities Industry Association welcomed the NASD Mutual Fund Task Force’s report on soft dollars and portfolio transaction costs, praising its recommendations for greater transparency for both mutual- fund boards and investors and tightened standards regarding the use of soft dollars for research.
