EU Emissions Trading Scheme Delivers First Verified Emissions Data For Installations

The European Commission today released the 2005 carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions data and compliance status of more than 9,400 installations covered by the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. For four Member States – Cyprus, Luxembourg, Malta and Poland – no information has been received as their emission allowance registries are not yet operational. The Emissions Trading Scheme enables greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector and energy-intensive industrial plants to be cut

CBOT Corn Futures Contract Sets Volume Record - CBOT Sets New Exchange-Wide Open Interest Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that its Corn futures contracts achieved a new volume record on Friday, May 12. The Exchange’s Corn futures trading volume was 336,422 contracts, eclipsing the previous record of 331,455 set on March 31, 2006.

CBOT 2-Yr. Treasury Note Futures Open Interest Surpasses 600,000 Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that on May 10, 2006, open interest in its Two-Year U.S. Treasury Note futures contract reached a new high for the tenth straight trading session, surpassing the 600,000 contract mark for the first time. Open interest expanded to 607,802 contracts, compared with the prior day’s record of 588,177 contracts.

CBOE And CFE Trading Schedule For Memorial Day Holiday

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) announced the following trading schedule in observance of the Memorial Day holiday: Friday, May 26: CBOE interest rate options products will close at 12:00 Noon CDT (Chicago time). In its Profit and Loss Drivers Review announcement of 15 May 2005, ASX advised it was seeking to reduce annual occupancy costs by 2008 while still maintaining its network of interstate offices. ASX remains committed to achieving its targeted premises savings of $4 to $6 million per annum by 2008.
