  • Alternext Amsterdam Given Green Light - Broad Support For Exchange-Regulated Marketfor Small And Medium-Sized Companies

    Euronext is happy to announce that the Dutch Ministry of Finance has granted a licence for the launch of Alternext Amsterdam, an exchange-regulated market aimed at small and medium-sized companies. All legal and technical matters have now been dealt with, enabling Alternext Amsterdam to welcome its first listings. A number of companies have already shown an interest in a listing on Alternext, and the first listing is expected in the second half of 2006.

  • Tokyo Commodity Exchange And Shanghai Futures Exchange Sign An MOU

    The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) and Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), two leading futures exchanges in Asia for metals, energy and rubber signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Shanghai on May 26, 2006 to share information and establish a future cooperative framework. This occurred just before the 3rd Shanghai Derivatives Market Forum hosted by SHFE.

    Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday May 29, 2006: UGL Enterprises Ltd. (TSXVN:UGS) will change its name to Red Hill Energy Inc. The company will trade under the new ticker symbol "RH" and the new CUSIP number 75658P 10 1. There has been no consolidation of capital.
