NYSE Listing Reduces Volatility, Execution Costs And Intermediary Profitability – Study Companies Moving Their Stock To The NYSE from Nasdaq Trade More Efficiently

Volatility, execution costs, intermediary profitability and average quoted spreads are dramatically lower on the New York Stock Exchange than at Nasdaq, according to an updated NYSE study that examined 67 companies that transferred to the NYSE from Nasdaq between 2002-2005.

NYMEX Europe Names Chief Executive Officer

NYMEX Europe Limited (NEL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Gooch as its chief executive officer. As planned, he will replace Samuel H. Gaer, NYMEX chief information officer, who served as interim chief executive officer of NEL, which successfully launched in September 2005.

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that its Board of Governors approved a new brand of pulp available for delivery against its Pulp contract. The new brand, Mondi Packaging’s Bohemia Kraft Pulp SW ECF, begins with the February 2006 contract delivery, which expires February 19, 2006.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today that adjusted position limits and reporting level for the stock options contracts traded in its derivatives market (please see table below) will take effect tomorrow (Friday). The adjustments comply with the provisions of the Securities and Futures (Contracts Limits and Reportable Positions) (Amendment) (No 2) Rules 2005, which will take effect tomorrow.
