Options Clearing Corporation Announces Record-Breaking Week
The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) reported yesterday that during the week of Jan. 5-9, a new weekly record was set for total options trading volume with 29,814,477 contracts. The previous record occurred April 16-April 20, 2001 with 25,453,849 contracts. In addition, two of the five highest trading days for total options volume occurred last week.

NZX Announces New Market Participant Structure
New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) wishes to advise all market participants that after thoroughly reviewing all submissions, it has sent the proposed new NZX Participant Rules to the Minister of Commerce for review. It is anticipated that the new Rules will be effective from 1 April 2004.

Montréal To Be A Key Player In The U.S. Equity Options Market
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given the Montréal Exchange and its American partners the authorization to launch the Boston Options Exchange (BOX), a new American equity options exchange that is expected to begin operations before the end of this month. The Montréal Exchange will be the technical facilities manager of BOX.

Montréal Exchange - The Growth Continues - Total Volume Up 21 % Summary Statistical Report 2003
Bourse de Montréal Inc. (Montréal Exchange) traded 17.7 million derivatives contracts in 2003, which is a 21% increase over the 14.6 million contracts traded in 2002. Trading volume is up 40% since the Montréal Exchange became fully automated two years ago.

David P. Prosperi Appointed Director of Public Relations For Chicago Mercantile Exchange
Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. today announced the appointment of David P. Prosperi as Director of Public Relations. Prosperi fills a key leadership role in CME's newly created Marketing and Public Relations Division announced in October 2003. In his new position, Prosperi will oversee CME's communications, and corporate and public relations functions. CME is currently recruiting for a Chief Marketing Officer, to whom Prosperi will report.
