Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/CDNX Composite Index: The common shares of Emerging Africa Gold (EAG) Inc. (TSX:YEG) will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange after the close of business on Thursday, May 30, 2002 as a result of an amalgamation agreement between the company and Diagem International Resources Corp (TSX:DGM).

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and the Jersey Financial Services Commission (FSC) jointly announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Concerning Cooperation, Consultation and the Exchange of Information. The MOU establishes a framework for information sharing and facilitates cooperation in cross-border investigations of potential violations of securities and futures laws.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has appointed Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd., an independent certified electrical and mechanical consultant, to examine the failure of the UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) system that caused the trading interruption in the derivatives market on Tuesday, 28 May. The consultant will start work tomorrow (Friday, 31 May) and HKEx expects to receive a report in about two weeks.
