Deutsche Börse: 289 Billion Euros In Turnover On The German Stock Exchanges In July - Further Rise In Trading Volumes

The aggregate turnover statistics show that a total volume of 288.6 billion euros was traded on the German stock exchanges in July 2003 - slightly above the volume posted for the previous month (June 2003: 286.1 billion euros) and the volume traded in May (246.4 billion euros). The turnover in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds rose 3 percent from the previous month's level to 217.7 billion euros; the turnover in fixed-income securities was 71.6 billion euros.

David Shillman Named Associate Director Of SEC's Division Of Market Regulation

The Securities and Exchange Commission today named David Shillman an Associate Director of the Commission's Division of Market Regulation. In his new position, Mr. Shillman will direct, with Elizabeth King, the Division's Office of Market Supervision. Mr. Shillman succeeds Alden Adkins, who left the Commission at the end of March.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Trading In Index-Linked Futures Reached New Highs In July

The equity market was also influenced by the summer season, and the value of trading totalled just under DKK 29.8 billion, a fall of 14 per cent compared with June. In July, the trading volume decreased to 135,246 share transactions, down from 146,819 transactions in June.

CME Reports Record Volume For A Single Day, Excluding TRAKRS<SUP><SMALL>SM </SUP></SMALL>Product Launch Days

Trading volume on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) reached 4,309,759 contracts yesterday. This was the exchange's highest volume day on record, excluding days on which CME employed special opening procedures for its nontraditional TRAKRSSM futures contracts. A TRAKRS launch day includes orders that were gathered over the previous weeks. Without TRAKRS, July 31 volume would have been 4,306,444 contracts.

CBOT Sets Total Exchange Daily Volume Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced a new exchange daily volume record set on July 31 with 3,331,999 contracts traded surpassing the old record of 3,286,987 set May 28, 2003.

CBOE July Exchange-Wide Volume Down 2% From June

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that July exchange-wide volume was down 2%, while total equity options volume dipped 1% and total index options volume declined 5% when compared to the previous month.

TSX Group Announces Market Closings For Civic Holiday - Monday August 4, 2003

Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange will be closed for the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 4th, 2003. Both markets will re-open on Tuesday, August 5, 2003.

Tokyo Stock Exchange: Emergency Increase Of Systems Capabilities
