  • ING Barings Announcement - FTSE Acquires Control Of BEMI And Global-Pro

    FTSE, the global index group, today announces that it has acquired ING Barings half share of Global-Pro, the global customised index service and will takeover the Barings Emerging Markets Indices (BEMI). ING Barings will continue to manage and calculate BEMI until 31 December 2001.

    The first phase of new CBOT® mini-sized futures contracts will launch on Sunday, September 30, 2001. The mini-sized contracts offer smaller-sized versions of some of the most actively traded futures products in the world, compromising a market that includes fixed income, equity, agricultural, and precious metal contracts. They will trade exclusively on a/c/e, the CBOT®'s electronic platform.

    RDCP announced interim results for the six months to June 2001. Turnover rose a strong 30.5% from P5.3m to P7.0m mainly as a result of the company's strategy of growing the portfolio through the acquisition of additional properties and new property developments. Operating expenses went up 30.3% from P1.3m to P1.7m, while finance costs went up 69.5% from P0.8m to P1.4m. The significant rise in finance costs was because most of the acquisitions were part funded by borrowing.

  • 263 Million Euro Turnover At NEWEX In July

    At NEWEX (New Europe Exchange), the exchange for Central and East European securities, volume of 263.16 million euros was traded in July. Volume of 106.33 million euros or 40.4 percent of the total, was traded in the NX.plus quality segment. The most active single issue was the common share of the Russian oil producer LUKOil, with over 1.27 million shares traded, corresponding to 65.55 million euros in value.
