  • CBOT Markets: Responding To A Changing Treasury Market

    The dynamics of the financial market are changing. Thirty-year treasury futures volume is down 21%, while cash market trading in the 30-year bond has declined 69.3% this year. In contrast, the CBOT's 5-year and 10-year note futures contracts are up 63.8% and 44.1% respectively. While the 30-Year Bond may be retracting as a benchmark contract, the CBOT's 10-year note contract, the new benchmark for U.S. Treasury debt, and its new agency note contracts continue to grow at unprecedented rates.

  • Tokyo Stock Exchange Announces Reduction of TOPIX Futures And Options Trading And Clearing Fees

    Trading and clearing fees for TOPIX futures and options have been halved to further improve the convenience of the TSE derivatives market. This revision was implemented on 17 May and is effective for transactions from 1 May onwards.

  • NYSE Announces First-Quarter 2000 Financial Results

    The New York Stock Exchange reported revenues of $189.0 million and net income of $22.9 million in first-quarter 2000, compared with $177.2 million and $27.9 million, respectively, in first-quarter 1999. The Exchange also reported income before interest, depreciation and income taxes for the same periods as $46.9 million in 2000, compared with $57.9 million in 1999.
