EEX Changes Auction In Single Hours - Auction Supports Optimization Of Production And Consumption Peaks

As of September 3, EEX will change the auction for trading in single hours, thus further optimizing trading at EEX for the market participants. The exchange made the announcement on Wednesday. The auction for trading in single hours is being replaced by a new and simpler type of auction with revised transparency parameters. Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) yesterday for the first time surpassed 15 million positions in open interest. The 15,024,033 open positions surpassed CME's previous record of 14,872,034 set one day earlier on Aug. 27.

CBOT Marks 1st Anniversary of a/c/e With A Daily Volume Record

The Chicago Board of Trade announced today that its members set a new daily volume record yesterday of 334,551 contracts traded on its electronic trading platform, a/c/e, breaking the former record of 296,441 contracts set on June 28, 2001. The CBOT® traded a total of 1,651,567 on August 28, 2001, of which 1,317,116 were traded in the open outcry marketplace.
