For the week of July 29th - August 2nd, trading volume in the RTS Bonds, the system facilitating trading of corporate, government, municipal debt, and Eurobonds, increased 4.2 times to 2 332 thousand dollars, up from 551 thousand dollars the previous week. The number of trades doubled, from 10 to 20.

During the week of July 29th - August 2nd, 2002, the RTS Index rose 327.96, up 1.60% on July 26th 322.80. The RTS Technical Index gained 1.18% to close at 360.19.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces July Volume

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange said that equity-trading volume increased nearly 61% when compared to the previous month's trading volume. Equity trading in July reached 253,998,608 shares traded, compared to 158,196,637 shares traded in June. Volume increased 41.38% when compared to the same month last year when 179,662,406 shares traded. Equity volume is nearly 2% higher for the seven-month period this year when compared to the same period last year.

The London Metal Exchange traded a total of 5,779,232 lots in July 2002. This figure was made up of 5,549,688 lots of futures, 220,067 lots of options and 9,477 lots of TAPOs.
July 2002 - Euronext Key Indicators- Number Of Trades In Cash Products Up 70% In July Y/Y, And Up 11.5% YTD

Since the beginning of the year, trades in cash products on Euronext grew by 11.5% compared to the same period a year ago, totalling 79,084,746 trades. Due to strong market volatility, the number of trades reached 14,463,056 in July, up almost 70% compared to July 2001.
