New Worldwide Record In Trading Volume At Eurex - 45 Million Contracts Traded - Record Volumes In Schatz Future, Options On Schatz And In Equity Options As A Whole
Eurex, the European derivatives market, achieved another worldwide record with 45 million contracts traded in May, beating its previous record of 42.1 million contracts as the world market leader in March 2000. This represents an increase of 56 percent over the Eurex total for May 1999. On the whole, over 197million contracts have already been traded this year.

CME Trading Volume Rises 18.4 Percent Year-to-Date - E-mini Equity Index Products Continue To Surge To Record Levels
Overall trading volume on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) year-to-date rose 18.4 percent, while May's volume rose 17 percent over last year with nearly 21 million contracts traded. Volume in equity and index futures posted a 52.6 percent increase over year-ago levels.

CBOE Volume Tops 1 Million Contracts Per Day For Ninth Consecutive Month
Trading volume at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world's largest options exchange, continued at a record setting pace, with average daily volume of more than 1.16 million contracts per day during the month of May. Year-to-date average daily volume is at a record 1.41 million contracts, 52.3% ahead of the year-ago record level of 924,954 contracts per day.

462 Billion Euros In Turnover On The German Stock Exchanges In May - Warrants Trading On Xetra Successfully Launched - Deutsche Börse Gives Positive Assessment Of Additional Trading Day On June 1st
A total of 462.3 billion euros in volume was traded in equities, warrants and fixed-income securities on the German stock exchanges in May, about 33 percent higher than the volume traded in May one year ago. The total comprises 331 billion euros in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds, and 132 billion euros in fixed-income securities. Trading at FWB, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, accounted for about 84 percent of the total.

The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) traded an average daily nominal value of £277 billion (?418 billion) and a total nominal value of £6,095 billion (?9,203 billion) during May 2000. This represents a rise in total value of 54% over May last year and is up 50% on last month.
