Key Appointment Supports S&P Push In European Index Market

Standard & Poor's, a leading provider of global indices, has appointed Christopher O'Brien as Director of Market Development for its index business in Europe. IOSCO: Publication Of Important Statements Of Principles By The Technical Committee To Guide Securities Regulators In Dealing With Three Critical Areas Necessary For Investor Confidence In Securities Markets

The Technical Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions today issued statements of principles to guide securities regulators in dealing with three critical areas necessary for investor confidence in securities markets. The principles describe essential features of regulatory systems requiring transparency and disclosure by listed entities; the independence of external auditors; and the need for public oversight of the audit function.

Eurex: Trading Initiative For DJ STOXX 50 Products

In early October, Eurex, the international derivatives market, launched an initiative to boost trading activity in futures and options on the DJ STOXX 50 index further.
