    On 1 March 2002, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange establishes a new market place, the XtraMarkedet. The XtraMarkedet will be an authorised market place and will first of all be offered as a market place for non-listed unit trusts.

    The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that its Futures and Options Combined Commitments of Traders (COT) report will be released weekly on Fridays at 3:30 p.m. Washington, D.C. time beginning January 18, 2002. Currently, this report is released biweekly on Monday afternoons. There will be no change in the release schedule for the Futures Only COT report.   • Baltic Exchange Plans Membership Changes

    Changes in the rules governing membership of the Baltic Exchange - including the introduction of the new category of social member - are being proposed by the Exchange's board. Under the changes, which will be subject to approval by shareholding members at a meeting to be held next month (January), social membership will be open to individuals, companies and partnerships entitling them to use the organisation's catering facilities.

    Australian Stock Exchange Ltd (ASX) has lodged final rule changes to its approved futures exchange and, subject to final regulatory clearance, will go live on 30 January 2002. ASX Managing Director and CEO Richard Humphry today announced that the first futures contracts products to be traded on ASX will be the ASX Mini200 and the ASX Mini50.
