HKEx: Implications Of The Amendments To The Mandatory Offer Provisions Of The Hong Kong Code On Takeovers And Mergers On The Exchange's Main Board And GEM Listing Rules

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited ("The Exchange") wishes to inform the market on the arrangements for issuers in complying with the Exchange's Main Board and GEM Listing Rules which are affected by the amendments to the Hong Kong Code on Takeovers and Mergers as announced by the Securities and Futures Commission on 19 October 2001.

entory Shareholders Agree To Takeover By Deutsche Börse - Acceptance Quota Of 100 Percent Documents Overwhelming Support - Cartel Office Has No Objections To The Deal

All shareholders of entory AG, Karlsbad, agreed to the offer by Deutsche Börse AG to purchase their shares. The 353 shareholders, some 300 are also employees of the company, thus back the merger of Deutsche Börse Systems AG and entory with impressive unity. The two companies had announced on November 30 that they wanted to merge their business activities. Deutsche Börse had tendered a private offer to entory shareholders to take over the company which ran until December 14.

CME Trading Volume Hits 400 Million Mark In 2001

Trading volume on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) surpassed 400 million in one year for the first time in the exchange's 103-year history on Friday, Dec. 14, when year-to-date volume reached 401,715,430 contracts.

CME Reduces Thresholds for Block Trading of Eurodollar Futures During Overnight Trading Hours

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. will reduce the minimum number of contracts required for block trading of Eurodollar futures and options on futures during overnight trading hours to 500 contracts, effective Dec. 19, 2001.

Stock Exchange of Thailand Raises Order Ceiling To 10 Million Shares And Amends Stabilization Rules

Mr Kittiratt Na-Ranong, the President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, has announced that the SET Board of Governors passed a resolution to raise the ceiling of trading orders, on both the Main Market and MAI, from one to ten million shares.
