UK’s Financial Services Authority Bans Former Solicitor From Doing Any Regulated Activity
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has now banned former solicitor Allen Elliott1 from carrying out any function in relation to regulated activities in the financial services industry. The ban follows a decision made by the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal on 16 March 2006. Mr Elliott applied to the Tribunal for permission to appeal the decision but permission was refused. He then applied to the Court of Appeal but later withdrew that application.

SWX Swiss Exchange Issues Reprimand Against SHL Telemedicine Ltd.
The SWX Swiss Exchange has issued a reprimand with publication against SHL Telemedicine Ltd., Tel Aviv, for violation of certain provisions of the Listing Rules. This SWX reprimand pertains to IFRS non-compliant segment reporting in SHL’s 2005 semi-annual report.

Standard & Poor’s Announces Revised Timetable For Inclusion Of Sydney Roads Group In The S&P/ASX 50
Standard & Poor’s, the leading provider of equity indices in Australia, announces a revised timetable for the inclusion of Sydney Roads Group (ASX: SRG) in the S&P/ASX 50 and all related indices. This follows Macquarie Infrastructure Group’s (ASX: MIG) decision to amend its own timetable for its in-specie distribution of SRG shares to shareholders.

SEC Announces Emergency Action To Halt $15 Million Fraud Against Senior Citizens - SEC Seeks Asset Freezes, Accountings And Appointment Of A Temporary Receiver
The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it filed an emergency enforcement action to halt a fraudulent real estate investment scheme that bilked senior citizens and retirees out of millions of dollars since 1996.

Oslo Børs Holding ASA - 2nd Quarter 2006
Oslo Børs Holding ASA recorded post-tax of NOK 68.5 (30.8) million for the second quarter. Shares and primary capital certificates worth NOK 711 (309) billion changed hands in the second quarter, which is the highest turnover in a quarter ever. Transactions in the equity market totalled 2,536,000 (1,165,000), up more than 100 % compared to second quarter 2005.

Oslo Børs And The Norwegian Securities Dealers Association To Collaborate On The OTC List
Oslo Børs has entered into an agreement with the Norwegian Securities Dealers Association to purchase a 50% interest in Fondsmeglernes Informasjonstjeneste AS (Norwegian Stockbrokers Information Services - FINFO). FINFO is a subsidiary of the Securities Dealers Association, and its activities include the operation and management of the system for trading OTC shares (un-listed shares).
