Hong Kong’s Product Diversity Grows With ETF Listing Surge

Listings of Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), including Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Leveraged & Inverse (L&I) products, have seen a remarkable surge in Hong Kong this year. As at 16 September 2024, 28 new products have debuted, exceeding the total number of ETP listings in 2023 and taking the total number of ETPs to 192.

The Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF) and its research arm, the Capital Market Research Institute (CMRI), organized first academic symposium “CMDF/CMRI Capital Market Research Symposium 2024” on September 23, 2024 at the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). The symposium aimed to showcase CMDF and CMRI-supported research findings that contribute to development and advancement of the Thai capital market. The event sought to enhance understanding and awareness of how CMDF and CMRI are instrumental in propelling various aspects of capital market research among stakeholders, including listed companies, investors, relevant government agencies, academics, and interested individuals. The research will also pave the way for the sustainable development of the Thai capital market in the future.

The bond notional is EUR 150 million with a maturity of three years. Sanoma Corporation is the first corporate issue to list a social bond on the Nasdaq Sustainable Debt Market at Nasdaq Helsinki.

Deal Volume In APAC Fall By 8.1% YoY During January-August 2024, Finds GlobalData

A total of 9,228 deals (mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private equity and venture financing) were announced in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region during January to August 2024 period. This was a year-on-year (YoY) decline of 8.1% compared to the announcement of 10,046 deals during the same period in 2023, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
