New Zealand Financial Markets Authority: Individual Ordered To Pay Compensation And Pecuniary Penalty For Making False Or Misleading Representations

Rangi Wyatt Stephen Savage Senior has been ordered to pay compensation of $126,214 to investors and a pecuniary penalty of $142,500 for breaching the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (the FMCA). The High Court judgment follows civil proceedings brought by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko.

Acting CFTC Chairman Pham Announces Brian Young As Director Of Enforcement

Commodity Futures Trading Commission Acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham today announced Brian Young will serve as the agency’s Director of Enforcement. Young has been serving in an acting capacity since January 22, and previously was the Director of the Whistleblower Office. He is a distinguished federal prosecutor with nearly 20 years of service at the Department of Justice, including Acting Director of Litigation for the Antitrust Division and Chief of the Litigation Unit for the Fraud Section of the Criminal Division, and has successfully tried some of the most high-profile criminal fraud and manipulation cases in the CFTC’s markets.

SEC Seeks Candidates For Membership On The Investor Advisory Committee

The Securities and Exchange Commission is seeking candidates for appointment as members of the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee, which was established by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to help protect investors and improve securities regulation. Candidates will be considered for open at-large membership positions on the committee, as well as for a position as the member who is representative of the interests of senior citizens, as provided in the Act.
