    New all-time records were set during the 2000/01 crop year in futures and options volumes at Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE). Record 12-month total futures and options volume, total futures volume, as well as new highs in canola futures and options volume were also established.

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) President, Mr. Vicharat Vichit-Vadakan, disclosed that the most active stock traded by investors in July 2001 was Bangkok Rubber (BRC) with a total trading volume of 260,406,800 shares, representing 3,183.75 million baht in value. Additionally, Yuanta Securities (YUANTA), Member # 12, was the most active broker with a total trading value of 18,203.64 million baht or 9.99 % of total trading turnover.

    Singapore Exchange (SGX) is pleased to announce a 12.3% growth in futures trading volume for July 2001, reaching 2,128,267 contracts, as compared to 1,895,734 contracts traded in the same month last year.

    The International Petroleum Exchange (IPE), Europe's leading energy futures and options exchange, announces a number of senior and distinguished independent legal appointments to its Disciplinary and Appeals Panels. Miss Elizabeth Appleby QC, Mr Peter Gross QC and Mr Andrew Moran QC have been appointed to Chair the IPE's Disciplinary Panel hearings. The Rt Hon Lord Mustill has agreed to act as the Chair of the Appeals Panel.
