Deutsche Börse Posts Further Increases In Second Quarter - 23 Percent Increase In Sales Against Previous Year - 19 Percent Growth In Earnings (EBIT)

Deutsche Börse AG posted another substantial increase in sales and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) during the second quarter of the current fiscal year. On Wednesday, the company reported that sales during the second quarter had increased 23 percent to 182.9 million euros, compared with the second quarter of 2000. The EBIT of 70.3 million euros is 19 percent higher than the second-quarter performance last year. For the first half of 2001, sales of 374.6 million euros and EBIT of 160.

On August 13, 2001, the Commission adopted new rules and amended existing rules to implement provisions in the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 that allow futures markets to register as national securities exchanges by filing a written notice with the Commission and to file proposed rule changes using an expedited process. Nymex To Introduce Calendar Spread Options

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it would introduce calendar spread options contracts for light, sweet crude oil and Brent crude oil on September 21; natural gas and heating oil on October 5; and unleaded gasoline on October 12.

ING Barings Announcement - FTSE Acquires Control Of BEMI And Global-Pro

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Announces Remote Trading Access Programme

CFTC Adopts First Set Of Final Rules On Single-Stock Futures

In accordance with the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 (CFMA), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has adopted the first set of final rules relating to the trading of futures contracts based on single securities and narrow-based security indices (together, security futures products or SFPs) as its moves ahead with implementation of the CFMA.

CBOT Mini-sized Contracts To Launch September 30

The first phase of new CBOT® mini-sized futures contracts will launch on Sunday, September 30, 2001. The mini-sized contracts offer smaller-sized versions of some of the most actively traded futures products in the world, compromising a market that includes fixed income, equity, agricultural, and precious metal contracts. They will trade exclusively on a/c/e, the CBOT®'s electronic platform.
