The TSE and CDNX are asking their employees, all traders and Canadian investors to take a pause from trading at noon EDT tomorrow (Friday) for a moment of silence to remember the victims of the tragedies in the United States this week.

The TSE will remain closed today. "We are monitoring this situation and will review our decision on a day-to-day basis," said Barbara Stymiest, President and CEO of the TSE. Due to the terrorist attack in New York, and in order to minimise market volatility, Tokyo Stock Exchange will delay the open of the market until 09:30 (a 30 minute delay) and reduce its daily price limit (the maximum parameters within which prices may fluctuate) by half (13 September).
