On August 21, SAX- and OMX-index reached a new year high, the index change in August was + 3 % and so far this year +19%.

Total open interest as of August 29th, 2003, equalled 3 851 million rubles and 520 thousand contracts (as of August 22nd, 2003, the numbers were 4 003 million rubles and 554 thousand contracts).

Eurex, the international derivatives market, traded and cleared 69.9 million contracts in August. During the first eight months of the year 2003, market participants connected to Eurex worldwide from over 700 locations turned over a total of some 682 million contracts, roughly one-third higher or 168 million contracts more than the number traded during the same period of the previous year.
