Tokyo Stock Exchange Compliance Quarterly (Inspection) Report

The TSE reviews whether their trading participants comply with TSE rules and regulations and whether they have any problems in their securities business operations. The TSE also take precautions against possible violations, act to prevent recurrence of the same violations, and introduce disciplinary measures when necessary. This is the quarterly report describing these activities.

SET: Listed Companies Announce Profits In The First 9 Months Of More Than 100 Billion Baht

More than 79% of listed companies have announced their earnings for the first nine months of 2002 and net profits amounted to 147.935 billion baht. Twenty-five industrial sectors recorded profits, which totaled seventy-one percent of net profits of the industrial and service sectors. SEC Proposes Auditor Independence And Workpaper Retention Rules Required Under Sarbanes-Oxley - Agrees To Issue Report On Anti-Money Laundering Rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission today approved publication of proposed rules that would require auditors to retain specific types of records. A second set of rules would require certain disclosures and reports by auditors and set conditions under which auditing firms would not be considered independent for purposes of performing audits of public company financial statements. CESR publishes ton November 13 the repsonses to the Consultative paper on possible implementing measures of the Proposed Market Abuse Directive. Before finalising the work, an additional public hearing will be held on Thursday 21 of November 2002 at CESR in Paris on issues raised by the consultation.
