André Roelants To Become Chairman Of Clearstream International

Deutsche Börse announced on Wednesday, that the current CEO of Clearstream International André Roelants will become the company's Chairman. In an expanded role, Roelants will focus on client development, strategic marketing, and financial industry relationships and developments. According to Deutsche Börse, the process to select a new CEO has been initiated and should be completed by the third quarter 2004.

Canola futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange closed out the month of February trading near their 52-week highs. The March 2004 contract settling at $411.50 per metric tonne on February 27, 2004, with the contract high of $415.00 being set only two days earlier on February 25. Last month the Financial Services Authority (FSA) wrote to the chairmen or chief executives of 21 firms that are subject to investigation, as part of the FSA's inquiries into the split capital investment trust sector, inviting them to attend a meeting with John Tiner, FSA chief executive. The meeting was held today (2 March 2004) at the FSA's premises and was attended by all of the 21 invited.
