The Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) today announced a record-breaking month for both trade and share volume in August.

Turnover for August was EUR 57,727.8 million. This compares to EUR 55,587.2 million in July. Domestic turnover in July was EUR 53,990.9 million, foreign turnover EUR 1,631.0 million, Nuovo Mercato EUR 2,014.8 million and on the Ristretto market EUR 91.1 million. Turnover for the period January to August 2000 was EUR 598,243.3million.
15th listing On The SWX New Market: Crealogix AG Opens 25% Above Issue Price

The shares of Crealogix AG, an E-business company, were traded today for the first time on the SWX New Market. The offering price was set Wendsday evening at CHF 200. At the start of trading on SWX, the stock stood 25% above that level at CHF 249, representing a total market capitalization for the company of CHF 266 million.
The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 11.8 Billion Kronur.

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on September 5 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 11.8 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.
Spain's MEFF Becomes Sixth Globex® Alliance Partner

Spain's MEFF (The Spanish Futures and Options Exchange) today officially became the sixth international partner to join the GLOBEX® Alliance linking financial exchanges across the globe. MEFF Chairman Josep M. Basañez signed the agreement today enlarging the global trading link providing access to many of the world's most actively traded financial futures products.

Over 14 million contracts were traded on derivatives markets operated by ParisBourse SBF SA in August, representing a 4.5% decline on the previous month and a 6.1% increase on August 1999. Open interest was up 10.4% at 32.9 million lots.

Euroclear Merger Accord With CIK And Necigef Accelerates Pace Of Consolidation In European Settlement

The Euroclear Board and the boards of Brussels Exchanges (BXS) and Amsterdam Exchanges (AEX) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which has as its ultimate objective the full merger of the Belgian and Dutch central securities depositaries, CIK and Necigef respectively, into the Euroclear group. As an interim step, Euroclear Bank will take a 51% ownership interest in CIK and Necigef. The settlement services supporting all three exchanges forming EURONEX
Eurex Introduces Trading In Federal Securities - Starting Signal For First ECN On Joint Basis With Leading International Investment Banks

Eurex, the European derivatives exchange, will be making a trading platform available to the market this fall that integrates cash trading in federal securities with the derivatives market. Eurex CEO Jörg Franke made the announcement at a press conference in Frankfurt on Wednesday. Eurex Bonds will enable so-called basis trades, in which offsetting cash and derivatives transactions are concluded simultaneously. Moreover, straight cash-market transactions will also be possible on this platform. T
