  • More UK Companies Join FTSE4Good

    The first review of FTSE4Good, the innovative SRI index series created by global index group FTSE, is confirmed today. An additional thirty-seven UK companies have met the corporate social responsibility (CSR) entry criteria since the index launched in July, and will be added to the UK benchmark index. The FTSE4Good UK 50, a tradable index which ranks eligible companies by market capitalisation, has four additions and deletions.

  • CME's S&P 500 Futures Trade Record Volume As U.S. Equity Index Futures Re-Open With Solemnity

    Yesterday's trading volume in S&P 500 futures reached record levels as Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) re-opened trading in U.S. equity index futures and options in conjunction with the re-opening of U.S. securities markets. The 8:34 a.m. (Central time) opening came after a two-minute silence to recognize the victims and survivors of the tragic events of Sept. 11 and the singing of "God Bless America" on CME's trading floors.

  • Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. Trading Schedule On Wednesday, Sept. 19 Again To Include Early Close For Interest Rate Products

    The trading schedule at Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) on Wednesday, Sept. 19, will be the same as Tuesday, with all products except open outcry interest rates opening and closing at their normal times. As was the case today, open outcry trading of interest rate products will close at 1 p.m. (Central time). Electronic trading on CME's GLOBEXÒ 2 system will also continue its normal trading schedule.
