    On Wednesday, March 17, 1999, Brussels Exchanges became an operational reality. The new company came about as a result of the integration of the Belgian Futures and Options Exchange (Belfox), the Brussels Stock Exchange and the CIK (national depository).

    The first phase of LIFFE CONNECT™ is on schedule to go live on Monday, April 12, 1999. The first contracts to be launched will be the 5 and 10 year Gilts. LIFFE Members are due to commence dress rehearsals for the new market on March 23, 1999.

    The Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX) has signed a five-year support contract with OM Technology, covering the OM CLICK Exchange System and the OM SECUR Clearing System. The support deal's order value amounts to just below SEK 50 m.

  • IPE Sets Another New Daily Volume Record

    Volume of daily trade on the IPE, the leading energy futures and options exchange outside the US once again surpassed previous records achieved only the day before. The record volume of 157,381 lots was achieved on March 11 and exceeds the previous record of 154,594 lots set on Wednesday March 10.
