Stockholmsbörsen Extends Its Opening Hours - Now The World's Most Accessible Stock Exchange

The Board of Directors of Stockholmsbörsen has unanimously decided to extend the opening hours of the exchange to 10pm (all time references are based on CET). This will be implemented by dividing the trading day into two parts, with a daytime exchange between 09.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. and thereafter an evening exchange for equity trading up to 10pm. This flexible solution means that Stockholmsbörsen is introducing a differentiated range of services for its various customer groups at the same time

Silver Polymer™ Batteries newly developed by Zinc Matrix Power Inc. (ZMP) are in routine use on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) trading floor. This innovative new rechargeable battery allows hand-held wireless network connected trading computers to run all day. Previously, floor traders had to use bulky belt mounted battery packs with power cords or swap out lithium ion batteries throughout the trading day.

The London Stock Exchange yesterday celebrated the sixth anniversary of AIM, by reporting continued growth in the number of companies on the market. Despite a difficult trading climate this year, AIM has seen 75 companies join its ranks, making a total of 572 companies on the market - 150 more companies than this time last year.
