LIFFE lists Three Month Euribor and EuroLibor Futures contracts on LIFFE CONNECT™

The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) today lists its euro-denominated Short Term Interest Rate (STIR) futures contracts (the Three Month Euribor and Three Month EuroLibor futures contracts) on LIFFE CONNECT™; the last of the complement of STIR futures contracts to be listed on the electronic trading system.
HKFE Briefs Members on Merger Proposal

The Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE) on September 17 held an informal briefing session for Shareholders to explain documents and procedures related to the proposed merger of the HKFE, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and the related clearing houses. Approximately 100 Shareholders and their associates attended the informal briefing.
HKFE Board Votes to Plan Migration of HIS Futures & Options in 2000

The Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE) said today that its Board of Directors has voted to plan the migration of Hang Seng Index (HSI) Futures and Options from open outcry trading to the Exchange's HKATS electronic trading system for next year. When the plan is completed, the migration timetable will be forwarded to the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for its approval.
Equant Equity Options Launched In Paris

On September 27, ParisBourseSBF SA will launch two new equity options based on Equant, a company first listed on the monthly settlement compartment of the Premier Marché on July 21, 1998. Equant has been a component stock of the CAC40 index since July 20, 1999.
E-Mini Nasdaq 100 Futures Sets Single-Day Volume Record As E-Mini S&P 500 Notches Record Open Interest

Volume of trading in E-mini Nasdaq 100 Index® futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) set a new single-day record Thursday September 16 of 6,026 as open interest in E-mini S&P 500 futures reached record levels of 32,690.

The monthly futures volume for August was 430,517 contracts a decrease of 10.3% against the July volume of 480,129. For options, 53,032 contracts were traded, a decrease of 14.1% against the July figure of 61,739.
NYMEX Metals Markets to Open Late Tomorrow

The New York Mercantile Exchange today announced that all Exchange metals markets will open an hour later tomorrow due to inclement weather conditions. The revised opening times are as follows: Aluminum Futures and Options: 8:50 A.M. Palladium Futures: 9:10 A.M. Copper Futures and Options 9:10 A.M. Platinum Futures and Options: 9:20 A.M.
