CBOT Fed Funds Settle At 98.742

The CBOT®30-Day Federal Funds futures contract for April 2003 was cash settled this morning at a final settlement price of 98.742, for an average daily effective federal funds rate of 1.258 percent during the delivery month. Please refer to the attached spreadsheet for more information regarding the calculation of this settlement.

The market ended 1% higher helped by Stanchart. The bank rose 10t to P5.60 on well over 200,000 shares as market players begin to see value in the stock but Sechaba eased 6t to P7.74 on just over 200,000 shares with the market trying to guess the numbers for the full year due in a couple of weeks.

NYBOT'S Russell 1000® Growth And Russell 1000® Value Contracts To Begin Trading Next Week - Futures Contract To Start Friday, May 9 And Options Begin Friday, May 16

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that it will roll out its new contracts based on the Russell 1000 Value (Symbol VV) and the Russell 1000 Growth (Symbol GG) starting this Friday, May 9 for the futures contracts with the options to follow on Friday, May 16. The new Russell products will trade on NYBOT's New York Futures Exchange, Inc. (NYFE) subsidiary Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 4:15 pm (NY Time).

ISE Secures Position As Largest US Equity Options Exchange Volume Fueled By Trading System Innovations

For the third consecutive month, the International Securities Exchange (ISE) was the largest US equity options exchange. ISE traded more equity options than any other US options exchange in April, according to trading volume analysis. ISE's equity options market share was 30% in April, a 58% increase compared to 19% for the same year-ago period.
