Committee Of European Securities Regulators Extends Deadline For Consultation On Some Mandates Under MiFiD Included In Its Consultative Paper Published On 17 June 2004

Following the requests expressed by a number of market participants during the public hearing held in Paris on 8 and 9 July, CESR has decided to extend to the 4th of October 2004 the deadline to comment the draft CESR technical advice on mandates concerning best-execution - mandate under Article 21 of MiFiD - and market transparency - section III.B of the consultative paper - , on which CESR will have to finalise its technical advice by April 2005

Baltic List To Be Expanded As a next step towards the creation of a joint Baltic market, the current Baltic List consisting of 15 largest listed companies of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian stock exchanges will be expanded to comprise all main list companies of the three exchanges as of 1 July 2004. Graduates There were 9 graduates to the Toronto Stock Exchange in June 2004, bringing the total number of YTD graduates to 30. These graduates represent 30.6% of the senior market's new listings this year compared to 45.8% for the same period last year. So far in 2004, 11 TSX Venture companies have been acquired/merged with TSX listed companies.

Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, July 19, 2004: First Goldwater Resources Inc. (TSXVN:FGW) will change its name to Baja Mining Corp. The new ticker symbol will be “BAJ.” There is no consolidation of capital.

S.A.C.I. Falabella Share Increase And IWF change In The S&P Latin America 40 Indices

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P Latin America 40 Index effective after the close of trading on Wednesday, July 21, 2004. S.A.C.I. Falabella (Chile, SEDOL 2771672) shares will increase by 417,671,243 to 2,387,928,763. The company has updated the number of shares as result of the acquisition of Invesiones Sodimac S.A. (non-constituent). Simultaneously the Investable Weight Factor will change from 0.2796 to 0.2567.

NYBOT Announces Changes To USDX EFP Transactions

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) announced today that effective Monday, July 26, 2004, amendments to its rules will be implemented to provide that Exchange For Physical transactions (“EFPs”), in the USDXâ futures contract may not be executed during Exchange trading hours in New York and Dublin.

National Stock Exchange Trades Surge 145 Percent And Share Volume Rises 114 Percent First Half 2004 From First Half 2003 - June 2004 Trades Increase 117 Percent And Share Volume Rises 68 Percent From June 2003

National Stock Exchange (NSX(SM)) today announced that the number of trades in the first half of calendar year 2004 rose 145 percent to 135.3 million, compared with 55.1 million trades in the first six months of 2003. Share volume of 61.1 billion in the first half of 2004 increased 114 percent from 28.5 billion during the same period a year earlier.
