  • Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces November Volume

    Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity trading volume reached 250,758,069 shares in November marking a 38.42% increase when compared to the same month last year when 181,160,600 shares traded. Equity trading volume decreased 1.84% compared to the previous month's volume when 255,467,656 shares traded. Equity trading volume is 11.27% higher for the 11-month period this year when compared to the same period last year.

  • Patterson Dental Company To Join The NASDAQ-100 Index

    Patterson Dental Company (NASDAQ:PDCO) of St. Paul, Minnesota, will become a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index® (NASDAQ:NDX), effective at the beginning of trading Monday, December 16, 2002. Patterson Dental will also be included in the NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking StockSM (Amex:QQQ). Patterson Dental Company will replace Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. (NASDAQ:GMSTE), which is no longer eligible for inclusion in the Index.

    Starting today, investors can trade OBX futures contracts on Oslo Børs in relatively modest amounts. This is because with effect from today OBX options and OBX futures can be traded as single contracts.     The number of trades on SETS, the London Stock Exchange's electronic order book, increased 21 per cent in November 2002 to 2.38 million trades compared with 1.96 million in November 2001. The average daily number of trades on SETS increased from 88,991 trades in November 2001 to 113,122 trades in November 2002, an increase of 27 per cent.
