Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, October 20, 2003: Pillar Resources Inc. (TSXVN:PIL) will change its name to "Pilagold Inc." There is no change in the ticker symbol and no consolidation of capital. The new CUSIP number will be 721416 10 5. The company is classified as an "Exploration/Development" company.

MTS To Launch Danish Government Bond Market

MTS Associated Markets today announced the launch of MTS Denmark on November 4. The segment, dedicated to the trading of Danish government bonds and tailored to address the needs of the Danish market, will take advantage of the liquidity, efficiency and reach offered by the MTS system.

Eurex Shortens Trading Hours For Equity Options And Equity Index Options - Entry Of OTC Block Trades And Vola Trades Still Possible Until 8:00 P.M.

Effective November 3, Eurex, the international derivatives market, will shorten the trading hours for equity options and equity index options; these products are currently traded until 8:00 p.m. CET. As of November 3, trading in German and U.S. equity options, EXTF options (Euro-denominated) as well as in options on the indices DAX, TecDAX, Nemax 50 and DJ Global Titans will end at 5:30 p.m. CET. Dow Jones Indexes Selected To Manage TRAC-X Index Products First CDS Index Products To Combine Broad Market Governance With Oversight Of An Independent Index Expert

JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley announced today that they have selected Dow Jones Indexes, a world leader in index calculation and management, to lead the future development of TRAC-X, the market-leading global suite of credit default swap ("CDS") index products that was formed in April 2003. Dow Jones Indexes will assume responsibility for maintaining and marketing the indexes, which will be renamed the "Dow Jones TRAC-X Indexes."

Commodity Futures Trading Commission Staff Allows National Stock Exchange Of India, Limited's Futures Contract Based On The Standard And Poors/CNX Nifty Index To Be Offered And Sold In The United States

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC's) Office of General Counsel issued a no-action letter on October 17, 2003, permitting the offer and sale of the National Stock Exchange of India, Limited's (NSE's) futures contract based on the Standard and Poors/CNX Nifty Index (S&P/CNX Nifty) in the United States.
