Strongest Trading Month Ever On Eurex With 149 Million Contracts - 375 Million Contracts Traded In Q1, 2006, Up 20 Percent On Q1, 2005 - Record Trading In Both Fixed-Income And Index Products - Single Stock Futures Trade More Than One Million Contracts In

Eurex, the world's largest derivatives exchange, reported on Monday that a total of 149 million contracts were traded in March. This is the strongest trading month ever on Eurex and marks an increase of approximately 27 percent on March 2005. The previous record trading month was June 2005 with 126 million contracts. On March 7, Eurex set a new daily trading record with 10.4 million contracts. The average daily trading volume in March was 6.4 million contracts.

CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, today announced that record volume for the first quarter averaged 5.0 million contracts per day, up 26 percent from the same period a year ago. Total volume exceeded 307 million contracts for the quarter. On the CME Globex electronic trading platform, average daily volume increased 31 percent to a record 3.4 million contracts over the same timeframe, representing 69 percent of total exchange trading. OneChicago March Volume Propels First Quarter To 60% Increase

OneChicago, LLC today reported that 395,988 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in March, advancing first quarter volume to more than 1.6 million contracts, a 60% increase over the year-ago period. Average daily volume (ADV) for the quarter was 26,020. March ADV was 17,217 compared to an ADV of 34,792 in March 2005. Open interest stood at 1,052,747 contracts March 31.

March Volume Of 55 Million Is Busiest Month In CBOE History - Record Index Option Trading Propels CBOE Total Volume To 46% Increase

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that March was the busiest month in CBOE history. Driven by record trading activity in index options, total exchange volume at CBOE for the month totaled more than 55 million contracts, an increase of 46% over March 2005. March's record tally surpassed the previous high of 53.9 million contracts traded during January 2006.
